HV U19 Boys Climbed the ladder in Christchurch

9 Jan 2018 by Angie Johnston

The HV U19 Boys finished their tournament 5 seeds higher than last year, unlike the girls, the boys also had a rain out day, on the 2nd day of tournament.
The tournament started off with a great game against USI unfortunately going down 2-1 but collecting a bonus point. Also things didnt go their way against the WXS, however they came back to ball game Auckland B 9-2. So with a day of rain the team had some down time and discovered other skills which put them in a good head space to take on Canterbury, again ballgame in 5 innings 10-3 but couldnt keep the momentum going, eventually going down to Auckland A 4-1. This saw the team seed 4th in what was an extremely hard pool. Nevertheless they took on and defeated both Southland & North Harbour in the crossovers earning the team 5th at the completion of the tournament.
Congratulations to all members of the team, also congrats to our members who were successful in the tournament rest team.
